Trash Disposal
We use a transfer station system of trash disposal, whereby trash is collected in large roll-off containers and then removed to a state approved landfill. If you are new to our system, please note the following:

• Dump Stickers - Dump stickers are required and should be clearly displayed on your windshield. You must show proof of residency (tax bill, mortgage statement, rent receipt, etc.) to the attendant to receive a sticker.
• Pay-Per-Bag - To defray the costs of transferring trash and encourage prudent dumping practices, Barrington employs a pay-per-bag system. Bags are available at local stores.
• Recycling - Barrington encourages recycling with a co-located recycling center. Please do not dispose recyclables with your trash.

Recycling

Since December 1992, Barrington citizens have developed a voluntary recycling system that saves tax dollars and helps conserve our natural resources. To be sold at the best price, recycled products need to be carefully segregated and clean. Your attention to the Barrington Recycling System guidelines will help enhance our system.
