Just a reminder the Transfer Station will be open Saturday November 30th!
Effective Immediately the Transfer Station will be transitioning to Single-Stream Recycling! All material the town currently recycles may now be placed in the same container!
See how the material is then sorted by clicking on the video link above this notice!
Single-Stream recycling is a program that allows all recycled materials to be mixed, saving storage space and making disposal easier by dumping it in one container. Sorting will take place off site. The goal is to make recycling so easy everyone will participate.
Plastic containers, newspapers, junk mail, magazines, flattened cardboard, phone books, beverage cartons, steel and aluminum cans (not crushed) and glass bottles can be dumped together. No plastic bags or styrofoam please!
Please make sure that all your recyclables are rinsed out and free of food waste!
WASTE OIL WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED AT THE TRANSFER STATION. HOWEVER, NAPA AUTO PARTS OF ROCHESTER LOCATED AT 45 HANCOCK STREET IN ROCHESTER WILL ACCEPT YOUR CLEAN WASTE OIL.
The mission of the transfer station/recycling center is to provide the residents of the Town of Barrington a safe, simple, clean facility to dispose of their trash, recyclables and materials in the proper manner.
