Winter Hours Of Operation Are:
Tuesday 1:00pm-5:00pm, and Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm
The Transfer Station does not accept leaves, brush or yard debris
You can purchase Barrington Trash Bags at the Recycling Center Building: A package of Large Bags are $13.00 and a package of Small Bags are $9.00
The Transfer Station is now using a compactor for Single Stream Recycling. All recycled materials will go in the compactor, including cardboard and Glass that is recycled. Please remember: NO PLASTIC BAGS! Thank you for your patience with this.

Single-Stream recycling is a program that allows all recycled materials to be mixed, saving storage space and making disposal easier by dumping it in one container. Sorting will take place off site. The goal is to make recycling so easy everyone will participate.
Plastic containers, newspapers, junk mail, magazines, flattened cardboard,phone books, beverage cartons, steel and aluminum cans (not crushed) and glass bottles can be dumped together. No plastic bags or styrofoam please!
Please make sure that all your recyclables are rinsed out and free of food waste!
Plastic shopping bags can be recycled at Market Basket, Hannaford and Lowe's
WASTE OIL WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED AT THE TRANSFER STATION. HOWEVER, NAPA AUTO PARTS OF ROCHESTER LOCATED AT 45 HANCOCK STREET IN ROCHESTER WILL ACCEPT YOUR CLEAN WASTE OIL.
The mission of the transfer station/recycling center is to provide the residents of the Town of Barrington a safe, simple, clean facility to dispose of their trash, recyclables and materials in the proper manner.
